Gabi's baby blessing
Don't you just love long weekends?! Like everyone else, we got school off Monday for MLK day so we packed up, and left for Wendell, Idaho (a tiny little town just 20 minutes outside of Twin Falls which is about a 3 hour drive from Rexburg).
This last Sunday, the 18th, was Keitra and Isaac's little girl's baby blessing. It was really fun to have a lot of family together.
My dad flew in from NY, my mom and brother Kyle from WA, and then Dom, me, Ashley (Kyle's girlfriend), and Breanne (Isaac's sister) drove up from good ol' Rexburg. Almost all of the John-Kathy Horne family was there. We missed Ryan and Jennie being there.
Here are some pictures from the weekend, we had a blast!

She has the CUTEST smile!

Kiera had piggy tails in her hair, and this is what it looked like when Rene took them out.

Dom and Keira

Michael was in the closet throwing stuff on top of Dom (who was pooped from playing with the kids) and then to top it off, Shylee came along and sat on top of him. haha I can't wait until we have kids.

Ashley and Kyle. Typical.

Gabi in her blesssing dress. Isn't she getting so big?!

HAHA! I love this one. She is so funny.

Moving? You have got to be kidding me!
About a week ago I got a call from my sister who told me that Isaac had taken a job in Twin Falls, Idaho (about 3 hours from Rexburg). It was a big mix of emotions, mostly excitement but we were really sad too. They had been looking for a job for some time and especially with the economy as it is any job you can get is awesome, especially ones pays more that 7 dollars an hour and that has the opportunity to move up in it. Although we will miss them a TON, we are really excited for their new adventure in a new city. Keitra told me that she "was just starting to get comfortable, and that usually means it is time to move", unfortunately. We are going to miss having them so close (one floor below us in the same apartment complex). It is so nice to have family close by. I am just grateful they aren't moving across the country!
Outfit take #2. This is what she really looked like, the hat is just so silly, but the tights with little red shoes on them make up for it! Adorable.
Here are some more pictures of Gabi, no one can seem to get enough of her, especially us :)

Dom, Brit and Gabi in her cute little "Baby's First Thanksgiving" outfit (Compliments of Ryan and Jennie Horne)
Gabi loves Dom. He was holding her one night and I was getting all jealous because she was crying when I had her, then he handed her over to me after she had calmed down. Bad Idea, she started wailing! Then I gave her back to Dom and she stopped crying immediately. So funny! At least it is a good thing to know she likes boys. Lets just hope she doesn't end up having a crush on her uncle :)

Outfit take #1. This is the cute little Santa outfit that she wore to the ward Christmas party (although she slept through the whole thing so no one got to really see her) minus the hat.It is kind of big on her little head, but it sure did make us smile.

New Addition to the Family
Disclaimer: This post is pretty lengthy, feel free to skim :) I mainly did this for family but feel free to read!
I am going to do a little backtracking, Keitra had been having really strong contractions the night before (thursday) and really wanted the baby to come so her and Isaac decided to go on a long walk (keitra had been told by a few co-workers and friends that if you walk around alot, the baby will come quicker. Gravity maybe?) Never the less, it seemed to work! The babe was on her way.
So, once we got to the hospital (around 3 a.m.) the nurse hooked my sister up to a machine that monitored her contractions as well as the baby's heartbeat which was kind of cool. Keitra was only dilated to a 3 at the time so the nurse called the doctor on call to ask if we should be sent home or if it would be better to stay. The verdict was to stay, luckily.
The nurse had us walk around the hospital to see if the contractions were legitamate (I guess if you walk around and they go away they are false contractions? I think, this is all really new to me too). Needless to say, they didn't go away, in fact they got stronger... a lot stronger.
We finally were brought to the birthing suite where Keitra was to have her baby. She kept having contractions and they kept getting stronger and stronger until she couldn't take it anymore ( I don't blame her at all, that whole process looks extremely painful on its own). She them proceeded to get an epideral. After that , it was smooth sailing, well until it wore off.
At around 12:30 p.m. the doctor came in and told my sister that he was going to have her push at 1 p.m. which was pretty exciting. What wasn't exciting was the fact that most women, especially for their first child usually have to push for about 2 hours to get the baby out, or so the doctor said. So the doctor came in at about 1:30/1:40-ish and had Keitra start pushing. After pushing for about 20 minutes that baby was out! Amazing? I think so. Good job Keitra!
We now have a brand new beautiful baby neice! Her name is Gabrielle (Gabi for short) Lynn (also my sister's middle name) Knight. We are so excited. She is probably the most adorable baby I have ever seen. And she most definetly did not look like a newborn but that could have to do with the fact that she was 8 pounds and 10 ounces straight out of the womb. She is darker complected like her daddy, has dark brown hair and blue eyes with the cutest chubby little cheeks. She is absolutely gorgeous and is such a good baby!
What is so awesome is that we only live about 2 seconds away from my sister. We live in the same apartment complex and only one floor above them so it is really convinient for the both of us! Not ony that but we get to be the designated babysitters when Gabi is a little older! How sweet is that?! We don't even have to have our own kids yet, we can just play with theirs. Not to worry, we do plan on having kids in the future, this just gives us our baby fix until we have our own.
Oh, one last note. My mom is in town for about two weeks and is staying with Dom and I in our spare room, we love having her here, it i really fun! I know Keitra really appreciates the help as well having a new babe and all. We look forward to seeing my brother and his wife (Ryan and Jennie) over Thanksgiving. I never thought I would ever be having thanksgiving in Rexburg! But it will be nice not having to travel.
Sorry that this post is so stinkin' long, but what I wrote probably doesn't even contain half of what happened, but I think i pretty much got the essentials down. Anyways, here are some pictures that have been taken this past week. Gabi is now officially 1 week and 1 day old today! Happy Birthday Gabi Girl!
Keitra, Isaac and Gabi
Friday Novemebr 7th, 2008 I received a phone call at about 2:30 a.m. from my sister Keitra's husband Isaac (mind you dom and I had only been asleep for about an hour because Dom works until 1 a.m.), but I was really excited! My sister was going into labor and I was going to the hospital with them. The best part was that my one class on Friday had been canceled so I didnt have to skip class :)
