Gianni is 2!

How time flies! I mean really, I seriously gave birth two whole years ago to this little boy who is in no way a baby any more? I can't believe how little he was, and how much he as grown. He makes us laugh so much and we just love him. He has brought so much joy and happiness to our lives, we just can't imagine life without him. Happy Birthday Gianni, we love you!

Brand new, weighing in at just above 7 lbs.

The last two pictures were taken from his 1st birthday, I cant believe that was an entire year ago!

Gianni's First Hair Cut

So here is the straw that broke the camel's back and the crowning moment that led us to break down and get Gianni's hair cut.

We were in the Salt Lake City airport waiting for our plane, it was morning time and Gianni still had hi jammies on (classy I know), and might I mention that they were blue monster p.j.'s. Any one who knos Gianni knows he has a little bit of a cord fettish; computer cords, phone chargers, lamp cords, anything that can be plugged into a wall.

So, at the airport Gianni at one point found Domenic's laptop cord and was carrying it to him. This man passes by and says "Well at least you will know where to find HER, just follow the cord".

I guess Gianni must just be one beautiful little boy because that is about the 7th time I have heard some kind of comment about how cute "she" is. Blame the dark long eye lashes and the curly hair.

So here you go, Gianni's first official hair cut. Are you ready?? Beacuse here come so major picture overlaod okay??

 The infamous haircut book
Oh boy, this is going to be fun...
 "Aunt Niciaaaaaa SAVE MEEEE!!!!"

That lollipop saved the day, holy cow.

Gianni hates messy hands, and his hands had gotten sticky with lollipop juice and then his cut hair stuck to it, icky.
20 minutes, 2 lollipops, 3 women distracting him, and one haircut later we have one cute little man.

Oh man I miss those curls, but I do have to admit he looks adorable.

Bright Sunny Days

The weather has been so incredibly nice lately that Gianni and I have been taking walks on a  daily basis. Here are pictures on how our walk went. 1: trying on mommy's sunglasses 2(upper left): Wide eyed and bushy tailed 3(bottom right and bottom left): out for the count.

Super Bubby!

Domenic and Gianni have a favorite game hat they play, it is called superman, as you can see from the pictures we have a superhero baby on our hands :) Here is how the game goes. Dom lays on the ground on his back and gianni sits on his stomach kneeling. Usually Gianni will start to lean forward smiling (like the bottom left picture) and then will proceed to kick his legs out, at which point Domenic lifts him into the air and makes a "whoosh" sound. Gianni goes crazy for it, in fact he usually starts crying when Dom stops. Anyways, here are some pics :)

Like Father, Like son

So Domenic and I were watching the videos I posted yesterday and I couldn't help but notice a part of the video where Gianni is giving the camera a very similar look that his daddy did back in the day (and to be honest still does at times :) ). I couldn't help myself but to do a side-by-side. It is amazing how good of a mix of both of us he is, but there are times that I can't help but thinking, "you are your father's son!"

Gianni's stats

Monday we had Gianni's 2 month check up and first set of shots. Seriously I think shots for babies are of the devil but I know it will be better in the long run for him to have them. I say they are of the devil because I have never seen my little guy cry so hard out of so much pain, not to mention how cranky he was for the rest of the day. Luckily he bounced back to his happy little self by the evening time :)

Anyways, here are his stats:

Weight: 12 lbs 8 oz (75th Percentile for weight)
Height/Length: 24 inches (90th Percentile for height/length!)
Head Circumference: 15 3/4 inches (50th Percentile for head)

He is definitely growing like a weed and getting more and more rollie pollie by the day, which I absolutely love. I love a good chunky baby!

What Gianni's up to these days

Dear Gianni,

Although you are still learning how to take naps and fall asleep on your own, you do sleep 5 hrs at night, hopefully that will extend soon.

You have discovered your tongue and stick it out at people when they stick theirs out at you

You smile when talked to

You love your swing

You love ceiling fans

You hold your head up, although still wobbly

You HATE being alone

As long as you are fed, changed and burped, and have someone within eyesight you are content

You like to coo when people talk to you

You love faces, and will stare into my eyes

You are getting nice and plump

You have 5 cries (lonely, frustrated, tired, hungry, and bored)

You laugh in your sleep

You sometimes snore/sleep talk at night

You love bath time and will usually pee outside of your bath into the big tub

You LOVE being naked, it is the happiest part of your day

You fall asleep to the sound of the vacuum

You get super sweaty when you cry for a long period of time

As of now, you have mommy's eye, daddy's lips, a combo of both our noses, and daddy's dark completion (skin and hair)

We love you little bubby!

Baby pics!

Okay so I did something really really stupid, I packed up the cord that connects to the computer for our camera and sent it with Domenic last weekend to put in our storage unit when he went to take his Italian test at BYU-I.

So, pretty much I have a TON of really cute pics/videos of Gianni but they are all stuck on my camera :(

BUT when Domenic's mom came to stay with me, we went and got professional pics taken of Gianni. Here are a few:

Happy 1 Month Bubby!

So this last Saturday we celebrated Gianni's ONE month birthday! Can you believe it has already been a whole month? I sure can't. Here are some things that I have learned so far being a first time mommy:

Sleep is so rare, that when you get more than a 2 hour stretch of sleep time, it feels like a whole eight hours...

When changing diapers with a boy it is a guaranteed that you will get peed on at least once a day-if your lucky only once...

If you don't burp them before you lay them down to sleep, they WILL throw up and wake up...

He never cries unless he needs something, even if that need is simply snuggling...

Once he's out, he is OUT. There is not much that will wake him up other than changing his diaper...

When he grunts and turns red, it means there is poopy coming, wait to change the diaper...

When he is super hungry, he does what we call the hungry snort...

Getting ready (i.e. make-up and hair) are saved for very, very special occasions, because there is next to no time for yourself, and the time you do have you spend doing things to keep your sanity (example-blogging), or sleeping...

If your baby will take a binkie, give them one, it will spare you unneccissary feedings when all they want is some comfort time...

NO matter how tired or frustrated you get, you still have this unchangable and unconditional love for the little guy that always grows stronger and stronger.

We love you Gianni!
